1. About Scentiks™

Scentiks™ is a South African aromatherapy brand selling natural wooden diffusers and essential oils. Our online store is operated at scentiks.co.za and is powered by Shopify Inc.

References to "Scentiks™", "we", "us", or "our" in these Terms refer to the operators of scentiks.co.za. References to "you" or "the customer" refer to the individual accessing or purchasing from our store.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing our website, creating an account, or placing an order, you confirm that you:

  • Are at least 18 years of age, or have parental consent if under 18
  • Have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service
  • Agree to our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and Shipping Policy, which form part of these Terms

3. Products & Pricing

All prices displayed on scentiks.co.za are in South African Rand (ZAR) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable. We reserve the right to modify pricing at any time without prior notice, however any change will not affect orders already placed and confirmed.

We make every effort to display product images, descriptions, and colours as accurately as possible. However, slight variations in colour or appearance may occur due to your device's screen settings. We cannot guarantee the accuracy of product imagery as displayed on your device.

We reserve the right to:

  • Limit quantities of products available for purchase
  • Discontinue products at any time
  • Refuse an order at our sole discretion

4. Orders & Payment

Placing an order constitutes an offer to purchase. Your order is only confirmed once you receive an order confirmation email from us. We reserve the right to cancel or decline any order, in which case you will receive a full refund.

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Visa and Mastercard (credit and debit)
  • American Express
  • Apple Pay
  • Maestro

All transactions are processed securely via Shopify Payments. Scentiks™ does not store your card details. By completing a purchase, you confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method provided.

5. Shipping & Delivery

We deliver to all areas within South Africa. Estimated delivery timeframes and shipping rates are detailed in our Shipping Policy. Delivery timeframes are estimates and not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by courier services, force majeure, or circumstances outside our control.

Risk of loss and title for products pass to you upon delivery to the courier.

6. Returns & Refunds

Our returns and refund process is governed by our Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms and is fully compliant with the Consumer Protection Act. Your statutory rights under the CPA are not affected by anything in these Terms.

7. Use of This Website

You agree to use scentiks.co.za only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You must not:

  • Use the site to engage in fraudulent activity or misrepresentation
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our systems
  • Transmit viruses, malware, or any harmful code

9. Product Use & Safety

Our essential oils are for aromatherapy use only. By purchasing from us, you agree to use our products as directed and acknowledge the following:

  • Essential oils are not intended for internal consumption
  • Some oils may cause skin sensitivity — always test on a small area before extended skin contact
  • Some oils (e.g. Eucalyptus, Tea Tree) should be used with caution around pets and young children
  • Keep all products out of reach of children
  • The Scentiks™ diffuser contains small wooden blocks — not suitable for children under 3 years

Scentiks™ is not liable for any adverse reactions arising from misuse or failure to follow product instructions.

10. Health & Wellness Disclaimer

Scentiks™ products are wellness lifestyle products. Any references to health or wellness benefits on our website are based on general aromatherapy research and are not intended as medical claims. Our products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, Scentiks™ will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the use of our products or website. Our total liability in connection with any order shall not exceed the total amount paid for that order.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by South African law, including under the Consumer Protection Act.
